Montpelier Pump Track

A pump track is a circuit of rollers, banked turns, and features designed to be ridden by riders “pumping” — generating momentum by up and down body movements, instead of pedaling or pushing. Pump tracks are great for skills development. The repetitive practice of going round and round, getting faster and more capable, builds confidence on the bike. Pump tracks are a fun and creative way to get kids outside and exercising.

In the Spring of 2020, MAMBA received approval from the Montpelier Parks Commission to build a pump track across from the Cummings Street Apartments and near the entrance to the North Branch Trails network.

MAMBA again worked with Sinuosity Flowing Trails to design and build the pump track in late Summer/Early Fall 2020. Virtually all of the work has been completed, but we will need to fine-tune the features and clean things up once things dry out this Spring (2021). Stay tuned for upcoming work days where you can help us open it up for the 2021 riding season.
