Flood Relief
On July 10th of this year, many locations around Vermont experienced catastrophic flooding, which wiped out homes, businesses, and entire downtowns. The City of Montpelier and the surrounding towns were severely affected by this event.
TO CONTRIBUTE LOCALLY:
Montpelier Strong Fund for businesses:
The Montpelier Foundation and Montpelier Alive have partnered to create the Montpelier Strong Recovery Fund to help small businesses get back on their feet. They are the heart and soul of downtown Montpelier.
Onion River Outdoors (MAMBA’s main sponsor/partner):
Despite efforts to move valuable items out of harm’s way from the rising floodwaters, ORO lost the majority of their inventory, along with work benches, tools, computers, and other equipment which won’t be covered by insurance. They’ll need to replace nearly everything to reopen. Most importantly, they need to continue pay staff who have shown up every day clean and organize and put the place back in order.
TO CONTRIBUTE STATEWIDE:
Vermont Community Foundation’s VT Flood Response & Recovery Fund 2023:
Your contribution to the VT Flood Response & Recovery Fund 2023 supports Vermonters in responding to and recovering from the catastrophic rainfall across Vermont in 2023.
PrideRides VT:
Pride Rides VT’s entire fleet of bikes and gear was submerged during the flood – so they need to replace nearly all of it. You can support them either by adding them on as a Community Builder to your VMBA membership or donating directly to PrideRides.
