Donation Wish List
We've compiled the following "wish list" of tools and materials that would be useful in constructing and maintaining local trails. If you have items you could donate or wish to make a cash donation toward a particular purchase, please contact Jase Roberts at info@bikemamba.org or 802.225.1327. Thanks. Donations to MAMBA are tax-deductible.
If you're a frequent garage sale visiter (like me) and see a quality tool that MAMBA could use for cheap price ($10 or below), please buy it and MAMBA will reimburse you.
TOOLS - New, or used in good working order or easily repaired
- Digging / Clearing tools: Mattock or Pulaski, Pick-axe, Grub Hoe, very sturdy garden hoes, shovels, Post Hole Digger, Machetes
- Timber & rock tools (bridge work): Cant Hook / Peavy, Skidding tongs, Log Carrier, Axe, Draw knife (for de-barking logs), hefty Come-along, heavy-duty chains
- Construction tools: Claw hammers, sledgehammers, level, framing square, hand saws
- Mapping / Routing: GPS unit, clinometer
- Motorized / big (hey, we can dream): push lawnmower, brush-hog, small enclosed utility trailer (for tool storage/transport)
- Other: sturdy wheelbarrow, child bike trailer (to be turned into a tool trailer)
MATERIALS - For constructing bridges and other structures
- Rot-resistant (cedar, hemlock, etc.) or pressure-treated posts
- Utility (telephone) poles for bridge stringers
- Lumber: any 1x4 and up suitable for frame or decking of span bridges and bog-bridges. If you're re-doing a deck, the old material may be ideal for our needs.
